Since Randal, 1st Earl of Antrim erected Glenarm Castle in the 17th century, it has been the ancestral residence of the McDonnell family, Earls of Antrim. Alexander McDonnell, 14th Earl of Antrim, is the current Earl. Lord Antrim’s son Randal, Viscount Dunluce, his wife Aurora, and their two children live at the Castle today.
